Become a Substitute Teacher

SUBSTITUTE TEACHING INFORMATION

If you are interested in substitute teaching with Kelly Services, our district's contracted substitute teacher pool, complete a Substitute Employee Interest Form, and they will contact you directly with more information!

To be a substitute teacher, an applicant must have completed 60 hours of college credit OR complete 20 hours of online training. Frontline Education can provide you with an alternative pathway for becoming a substitute teacher. The online training will cover topics such as professionalism, honoring diversity, engaging students, foundational classroom management techniques, basic instructional strategies, supporting students with special needs, and working with at-risk youth.

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requires all substitutes to apply for their own substitute certificates through the department's website.
