Transportation Handbook

The safety of students during their transportation to and from school is a responsibility that is shared between parents/guardians, bus drivers, and school officials. All students are taught and expected to follow PBIS expectations on the school bus. These expectations—Safe, Respectful, and Responsible—help create a positive and predictable environment for everyone.

Bus drivers and staff model, teach, and reinforce these expectations throughout the year. Just like in the classroom, students may receive positive recognition for following the rules. When needed, staff use proactive strategies like reminders, redirection, and respectful conversations to help students stay on track.

PBIS is a districtwide approach to teaching and supporting positive behavior, not a program or curriculum. It helps ensure all students have a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow—on the bus and beyond.

To support a safe, respectful, and responsible experience for all students while traveling to and from school, please read the guidelines and expectations outlined in the Transportation Handbook
