The festivities will kick off with a lively parade at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 4th. We encourage the community to come out and line the streets to cheer on our Indian Pride Marching Band, cheerleaders, football players, and all the class and activity floats. Later that evening, join us at 7:00 p.m. as our Hallsville Indians football team takes on School of the Osage under the neon lights. Coronation will take place at halftime that evening.

Hallsville High School Student Council also hosts the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 5, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for high school students.

Homecoming shirts are now available at Shirtworx Ink! All orders must be received by Monday, September 30.

The Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Friday, October 4, at 1:30 p.m. Floats will exit from the back of Hallsville Primary School and turn right onto North Street, then right onto Wesley Avenue, and left onto Highway 124, left onto Elizabeth Street, then left onto Highway 124 and end at the front of Hallsville Primary School. 

Students across campus are invited to participate in  Homecoming Dress-Up Days the week of Tuesday, October 1 - Friday, October 4!

Please respect our facility by not bringing the following items onto the track or field:

• Bikes, strollers, or skates
• Alcohol, tobacco, or chewing gum products
• Food on the track or field
• Dogs & other pets
• Sunflower seeds

Their dedication over more than eight years has built strong systems that benefit all students. This award not only acknowledges their hard work but also reinforces their commitment to ongoing, data-driven decision-making and continuous professional development. We value their leadership and look forward to seeing the entire district achieve similar success, inspired by their high standard.

The Hallsville School District hosted its first Safety Meeting of the year on Thursday, September 19. The meeting, open to staff, families, and students, addressed the district’s CSIP Goal of Excellent Schools, specifically Improvement Objective 2.1.2: Providing a safe environment where students can focus on academic learning. Topics included reviewing safety plans, current training and programs, and additional subjects raised by attendees. You can view notes from the meeting here.

During the September Board of Education meeting, Architectural and Engineering firm Klingner & Associates was in attendance to discuss the following items:

• Stadium Concourse Design Proposal : The Board approved Klingner’s design fees for the stadium concourse construction, which potentially includes paving the concourse area around the existing grandstand, concession building, and a portion of the aggregate parking. 

• Stadium Locker Room: The Board approved the stadium locker room floor plan as presented by Klingner.

• Pre-Bond Support Proposal: The district intends to pursue an April 2025 bond issue for various potential capital improvement projects on the campus. To aid in defining the capital improvement project scope, the district asked Klingner to provide Professional Architectural and Engineering (A/E) design services related to the development of conceptual project development drawings and renderings during the pre-bond issue election period. The board approved the proposal.

The Hallsville Chamber of Commerce seeks nominations for the 2024 Educator of the Year. Nominations are due by Thursday, October 24. If you want to nominate a teacher from our district who displays dedication, motivation, enthusiasm, and commitment, please submit your nomination online nomination below. The Chamber is also accepting nominations for Business and Citizen of the Year.

Hallsville Youth Basketball Association (HYBA) 5th & 6th Grade

Registration is now open for 5th and 6th grade basketball through the Hallsville Youth Basketball Association (HYBA). The attached registration form and payment can be dropped off at school or mailed to 12795 N Route B, Hallsville, MO 65255. Please make checks payable to Hallsville Youth Basketball Association or HYBA. All registrations must be completed by October 11, 2024.

4-H Hallsville Go-Getters'

The Hallsville Go-Getters' first meeting of the year is Monday, October 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Bob Lemone Building. Even if you are not signed up for the New 4-H Year yet, join them at their first meeting, where they will share important information. Registration is open from October 1 through October 31.

Hallsville Trick of Treat

Join the Grow Hallsville Parks Foundation at the 9th Annual Trick or Treat in the Park on Saturday, October 19! The event starts at 4:30 p.m., and there will be free hot dogs and chips, games, and a costume contest. If you would like to help with the event or donate candy, please contact City Hall.
