December 13, 2024
Dear Hallsville Families and Community Members,
In partnership with the City of Hallsville, Hallsville School District, and Hallsville Police Department, we want to share important updates regarding road safety around our schools.
Beginning January 13, 2025, certain roads surrounding Hallsville School District will be officially designated as “School Zones” from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on days when school is in session. This change is part of a collaborative effort to improve safety for our students and all community members traveling near school property during peak hours. Traffic moving violations during posted school zone times will incur a double fine. The City will work to place signs on the streets listed below over the next month.
The following roads will now be included in the “School Zone,” with a 15 mph speed limit.
Wesley Ave: From Highway 124 to North Street
Bertie Ave: From Highway 124 to North Street
Elaine Ave: From Highway 124 to North Street
North Street/Ricketts Road: From Bertie Ave to Tayler Court
Hudson Ave: From Highway 124 to State Road B
The following road will now be included in the “School Zone,” with the speed limit being the same as posted.
Highway 124 from State Route OO to Hallsville Primary School driveway.
A map illustrating these designated areas is included for easy reference.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to ensuring a safer Hallsville.
In partnership,
