Hallsville Families,
With the anticipated winter weather this weekend, we want to remind families how the district will communicate any changes to the school schedule and potential weather-related make-up days. The information below is also available on the district website: https://www.hallsville.org/weather.
Communication: If the school schedule is impacted by inclement weather, you will receive notifications via the following methods:
ParentSquare app notification: Please ensure you have downloaded the ParentSquare app and have checked your notification settings.
Phone call and email from the district. The phone call and email will contain the same information. If you miss the call, please check your email rather than returning the call to the school.
Local media outlets: ABC17/KMIZ, KOMU 8-TV, KRCG 13-TV, KFRU AM, and Zimmer Radio Stations.
Social media: Updates will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Make-Up Days: The school calendar includes potential Mondays for inclement weather make-up days. If needed, the make-up days will occur as follows:
1st Snow Day: Traditional Snow Day (no make-up required)
2nd Snow Day: Make-Up day on Monday, January 27
3rd Snow Day: Make-Up Day on Monday, February 3
4th Snow Day: Make-Up Day on Monday, March 3
5th Snow Day: Make-Up Day on Monday, March 10
6th Snow Day: Make-Up Day on Monday, April 7
If school is canceled and a Monday is designated as a make-up day, the district will notify families accordingly.
Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI)
After the above days are used, the district will transition to AMI. During an AMI day, students will complete specific school work at home as assigned by their classroom teachers.
